They are all susceptible to injury, just like the tendons of the thigh. These movements can occur as a result of overstretching the muscle or while playing sports such as football or soccer.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"symptomes\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Symptoms\"><\/span>Symptoms<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Thigh pain and swelling<\/li><li>Visible inflammation or bruising<\/li><li>Difficulty bending and straightening the knee<\/li><li>Leg weakness and reduced range of motion<\/li><li>Sharp pain when running, jumping, or kicking<\/li><\/ul>\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"classification-pour-les-etirements-du-quadriceps\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Classification_for_quadriceps_strain\"><\/span>Classification for quadriceps strain<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Mild: Minor tearing of muscle fibers with little or no loss of strength. The pain is usually mild to moderate, with no palpable defects in the muscle tissue on examination.&#13;\n<\/li><li>Moderate: More severe disruption of muscle fibers with significant pain and loss of strength. A defect in the muscle tissue can sometimes be felt.&#13;\n<\/li><li>Severe: Complete tearing of the muscle associated with severe pain and complete loss of strength.
