The Lempert maneuver (or barbecue roll)
Another solution for BPPV of the horizontal canal , this technique consists of having the patient perform a series of successive 90° rotations, in a lying position, until returning to the supine position after a complete rotation of the body on a horizontal axis – hence its nickname “barbecue roll”.

It allows the otoliths to be circulated along the entire length of the horizontal canal to bring them back to the utricle. Although longer, this maneuver is particularly useful in cases of refractory or recurrent forms.
